Ancient Forest Team

Okeda wandered through the dark forest. He had been here many times before, for it was where his clans had once lived. He recalled his past, his clans, his captivity, his silent return. His fear. He pondered on what he should do, and took another glance around him. Thick trees stood all around, their trunks blue, their dying leaves pink. Many of the other world do not understand the magical rules of this realm. Okeda knows them well. Nothing is as it seems, and even a mortal can tap into magic, albeit it is very tiring, and almost impossible. So most stick to weapons, only using magic in dire emergencies, and even then, unless they are a rue mage, they can do nothing but cause a warm glow, or other weak magic. Ah, the warm glow of the 2 suns that float around this world. though they are too close together, and so it must be nightfall at some point, however that some point was a long while away. Okeda had only just woken from his sleep, and now he was hungry for breakfast. If only he could catch something large enough to be of any sustenance, then he could wander out of this dark forest and into the bright light.

The Infernum Hound released a breath, which soon became fire, enough to warm his paws, but not burn any trees down. He then worked on becoming invisible in the darkness. His body began to glow a dull yellow, then became slightly invisible, however he quickly resumed full visibility, unable to hold his unseen form for any longer than several seconds in darkness.

Hunger again. It was back. His practising had momentarily distracted him, but he was hungry again. His stomach began to rumble, and Okeda quickly looked around. Food. Hunger. Need to eat. Death to all. Where had that thought come from? It was the effects of the dark beings which ruled over this land. Rippers. Their seeds of evil were blossoming, and soon, Okeda would have no choice but to kill. He could only barely fight back the animalistic instincts when the Rippers had appeared, but now, unseen, they were stronger.

He called out as loud as he could.

"Rippers, be gone from this land. Stop leading us down your vile path of darkness! Please!"

Though he knew it was useless. With no mouth, all he could do was whine and whimper, growl and grunt. Only another Infernum hound would understand him. Rippers would most likely hear the usual roar of an Infernum Hound.

Suddenly, Okeda caught site of movement in one of the fluorescent orange bushes.

Pouncing towards it, the only thought in Okeda's mind was:

"Lunch time!"

Jareth was by this time deep within this treacherous Ancient Forest. He was equipped with his knife, or slim dagger and was cautiously weaving his way between trees, bushes, and brambles, all of odd colors. Nothing was the same. The green grass and leaves along with other earthy, or earthly colors were replaced with bright, shining and some neon colors. On top of that, there weren't just your every day animals either. Instead, this place was riddled with various beasts and creatures, most of which appeared lethal and bloodthirsty. That was why in particular it was so difficult to survive here. There was nothing you could trust.

He let out a quiet breath as he slid down the trunk of a unnaturally colored tree into a sitting position. That's when his stomach began feeling empty and let out a loud yowl for food. Jareth clutched his hands tightly around himself, crossing his arms in front of his middle and sort of squeezing to get the noise to go away. Any nearby predator could pinpoint his location if he was hungry enough for his stomach to give him away. But what was there to eat? He didn't trust anything, not even the water.

If he kept living like this he'd die due to his own starvation, whether that was the direct cause, or the indirect cause that caused him to fall prey to a trap or a fight. He squirmed uncomfortably at the thought. The teen was so used to being on his own, so why couldn't he take care of himself? He was a social outcast for most of his life so even if he did meet someone there was a slim chance he could even bring himself to speak to them, even slimmer chance that he'd ever place trust in them. But without the help of others, more experienced than he, Jareth would die sooner than he wished.

Okeda finished off his meal, a rogue low-level animal. Too small to fill him up, and too bloody to be clean. He focused, trying out a new attack. His eyes began to glow bright white, as he tapped into the power of the sun, although it was weaker than normal. Damned thick trees. Blocking out the sun! The blood began to bubble, as Okeda tapped into his anger as much as the sun. Soon the blood began to heat up till it had turned into steam. Okeda let his rage lower, and released his grip on the sun.

One of his newly acquired powers since being turned towards darkness, was the ability to use his angry, evil thoughts and connect them to his source of power-the sun- in a way which creates heat. Allowing him to liquefy ice, or turn liquids to gases. Okeda did not like to use his powers which stemmed from the Rippers, but they were so tantalizing. So tempting. He knew that if he accepted the darkness within, he would grow stronger. He wanted strength, but not evil. It was a terrible choice to have to choose.

Still unable to become invisible, too much darkness, not enough light. Giving in to evil would raise his power. Perhaps then... No! The evil is too strong. It's getting in to his head. He has to fight it.

Okeda howled as loud as he could. Up at the sun. He was not able to howl like ordinary wolves, but even with no mouth, he still could howl!

"Arooooooo! Aroooooo! Arooooooo!"

((OoC:No, you did great. That was perfect, and sorry for taking so long, I just didn't have time to do the post, but I did it in by the 3rd day, so it's all good.))

Okeda ran through the forest, wanting to get out of the forest, he could not handle the dark. As he ran he saw a flash of darkness darker than the forest. A black outfit, a human. A snack! No! He could not think like that, he could not eat a human being. Okeda crouched down, watching the human, unsure of whether to reveal himself or not.

Okeda studied the human, quietly following it, he was almost seen several times, but managed to avoid sight. After a while, he decided to reveal himself, best to be known if the Rippers dark magic gained control over his mind and reverted him back to basic instincts.

As Okeda leaped out of the bushes and attempted to introduce himself, he realized only too late that all the human would hear and see would be a giant wolf monster leaping out of bushes towards him and roaring, being unable to understand Infernum Hound.

"I am Okeda of the Infernum Hound No Mouth-No Eye clan!"

A deep roar and growl echoed from deep in his throat, and he knew almost instantly that the human would either run or attack.

((OoC:Sorry about taking so long to post, banned from computer. Don't worry about Rippers or the safehouse at the moment, normally you would just post in the safehouse thread with a link to your characters, but because we have so little members/characters at the moment, there will not be any killing of any characters until we have more people. (Also because no Rippers have been hired yet.)))

Okeda stood as the mortal looked around, it's eyes darting momentarily about. Okeda thought of leaping and killing it, putting it out of it's misery. Soon, the human slightly stepped back. Okeda growled a low growl, ready to kill, but then regained his own senses, damn the Rippers and their infectious thinking.

Okeda looked down, then back at the human, and then back to the forest behind him. Clearly the human was in a fearful position, although it held a knife, it was in no real position to do anything, where as Okeda certainly was, he had great strength and size on his side, while the mortal had a knife. Easy to kill.

Again the thoughts of killing invaded Okeda's mind, and soon he knew he would not be able to fight them off. They were growing stronger and more frequent, increasingly violent and dangerous. Perhaps he should just give up on fighting, or give up on life, and expose his belly for the human to cut open. Perhaps, or perhaps not.

Ancient Forest | Early Morning (5)

[[Finally!!! I finally got some time on the big computer!!]]

Jareth kept his gaze locked now on the thing before him. He decided it would be best just to stay still for now. He could easily manage that. If he could anticipate the creature's actions he could take off as it leaped. He wouldn't be ast enough but if he could make it to that tree, he could use his knife to help him scale it to a higher branch. He watched the animal's every move, especially the position of the feet and its facial expression. If would be difficult to tell especially ssince this creature was foreign to him. It wasn't just another animal in a forest after all. He continued searching for any signs or body language that would preceede a pounce.
